About Us

Hello! I’m Katie and I’m the owner of Back2Basics Tutoring. I graduated with my teaching degree in 2020. I started out as a paraprofessional, supporting teachers and students by creating lessons targeted to their specific learning needs. I followed that year by becoming a 2nd grade teacher for 2 years. It was magical! I absolutely love teaching! It has always been my dream. But I wanted to have more flexibility. I decided to start tutoring to give me that flexibility while still being able to help children learn and grow. So, today, I work with kids from all sorts of learning journeys, whether it’s home or public, with learning challenges or without. They are all deserving of the support they need to make them successful and that is why I do what I do each day.
